The volume assesses nature and
direction of change in the socio-cultural life of India's largest minority, namely, the
Muslims, during the last 50 years. The articles cover various aspects such as demographic
features of the Muslim population, the nature of their polity and political empowerment,
the state of their education in a limited area and the features of their social structure
and organisation including the impact of Islam on the aboriginal tribes in the country. It
was visualized that the subject matter will provide ample insight into the problems of the
Muslims in the above mentioned period.
