Then he gave a brief introduction of the Institute of Objective Studies mentioning the aims and objectives and other important activities of the IOS [spread over the last 17 years since its establishment (1986)].

Prof. Khan’s speech was followed by a brief introduction of the participants who also gave details of the IOS works going on under their supervision. Prof. Z.M. Khan thereafter requested the Hon’ble Guest to say a few words.

Dr. A.Q. Tash, appreciating the Institute of Objective Studies in regard to its name, its aims and objectives and its approach, said that the IOS is doing a lot for upliftment of the Muslim Community through its activities and projects and that it will certainly help to give hope to the Muslims, since we, the Muslims, are in a very bad situation all over the world.

Highlighting the backwardness of Muslims he said that one of the important factor is the lack of scientific approach and that the institutions like IOS will certainly help Muslims in overcoming their backwardness. He stressed that we must translate our way of thinking into a more practical approach.

Talking about the approach of the Muslim Ummah he emphasized that their approach to encourage the Muslim community must be positive, scientific and practical instead of traditional ones.

The meeting concluded at 12:15 p.m. with the vote of thanks by the Secretary General of the Institute of Objective Studies to the Hon’ble Guest, Dr. Abdul Qadir Tash, for sparing his valuable time to visit the Institute and sharing his thoughts with the participants.

After the above meeting, Mr. Jamshed Akhtar made a presentation of the IOS project, “IMDAAD” which received appreciation from Dr. Abdul Qadir Tash.

The Guest recorded his impressions in the Visitor’s Book of the IOS which reads as follows: “I was pleased to visit IOS and I was very impressed with the work which has been done so far. IOS is a model that I wish all Muslims can benefit from. I pray to Allah that IOS progresses and flourishes to serve not only Muslims in India but the whole Ummah”.

Dr. Tash then visited the office of Islamic Fiqh Academy (IFA) and had an interaction with the Secretary, IFA and officials of Universal Peace Foundation (UPF). He listened with great interest the activities undertaken by these organisations and appreciated all their efforts.
