As per its tradition, the IOS headquarters organized an Iftar cum dinner at its premises on 14.11.2003. A large number of dignitaries and residents of the surrounding areas attended the party. Before the Iftar, Maulana Tariq Abdullah delivered a brief but informative lecture on the significance of Ramadhan. He said that right now we are passing through the second Ashra (the tenth) of the Holy month which is one of Maghfirah, seeking forgiveness of Allah. The learned Maulana also highlighted the importance of Ramadhan and fasting in Islam. He quoted several verses and sayings of the Prophet (pbuh) to support his arguments. Ramadhan, as the Holy Quran, says is binding upon the believers. This brings about patience and perseverance among the believers. In a sense fasting is good exercise for disciplining oneself. But more than anything it is an spiritual affair, an occasion to purify one’s soul, follow Allah’s commands, seek His forgiveness and gather strength for the task ahead. The programme ended with Dua supplication to Allah which was followed by Iftar and dinner

The following decisions were taken:

1. The target and infrastructure plan to be discussed with the Convenor of the Committee

2. The Secretary of the Committee will discuss with the Convenor of the Committee each and every problem during the phase of implementation of the project.

3. The status report of the work progress for every two months should be presented before the Committee

4. During the analysis and designing phase of the project Mr. Zeyaul Haque may be contacted for help.

5. The addresses of the universities websites should be added on the page.
