OBJECTIVES OF THE JOURNAL

  1. To promote research studies on basic conceptual issues.
  2. To provide a forum for scholarly discussion on social, political, economic and humanistic issues.
  3. To promote and publish empirical studies on the issues relevant to minorities in general and Muslims in particular.
  4. To encourage ethical and moral orientation in social research and facilitate the publication of such studies.
  5. To strengthen communal harmony, human brotherhood, fair play and justice in India through its publications.
  6. To inform public opinion in a constructive and socially useful manner.

NOTES TO CONTRIBUTORS

ARTICLES

The Journal welcomes contributions from all interested students and scholars of social sciences and humanities. The size of contributions should not exceed 35 typed pages of A-4 size or 10,000 words and ample space as margins at each side of the page should be left. Typing of both text and footnotes should be double-spaced. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper.

All references should be listed at the end of the paper. The text references shall contain the surname and the page number. If the author has more than one reference, differentiation should be made by using small alphabetic letters.

A hundred words abstract which summarizes the main ideas of the paper should be submitted by all contributors.

The full name of the writer, his present affiliation and complete correspondence address should be included.

All articles will be referred to experts in the relevant field.

NOTES

Short notes on specific topics should be of high quality. They will be referred to specialized scholars as all other articles. The size of such notes should not exceed 15 typed pages of A-4 size or 3000 words.

RESEARCH IN PROGRESS

This section is designed for academic input and exchange of views in the process of research. Statements should be explicit and well documented and should clearly indicate research goals.

REVIEWS AND ABSTRACTS

Reviews of current books in areas of social concern, of books related to theoretical studies are welcome. Also may be published reviews of early scholarly works which may contribute to an understanding of the present situation would be accepted. Size of such reviews should not exceed 10 typed pages of A-4 size or 2000 words. Books sent for review must be in duplicate.

The Chief Editor reserves the right to make editorial revisions but no major changes will be made without approval of the author.

All responsibilities for opinion expressed and accuracy of facts vests exclusively with the authors and not with the Journal or its editorial board.

About the Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Z.M. Khan is the Professor & Head of the Department of Political Science in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He obtained his Masters from the University of Delhi and his Ph.D. degree from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is known for his scholarship and teaching ability. He has an experience of teaching in Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi spreading over a period of more than three and a half decades. He has three books at his credit and a number of articles appeared in research journals. He is a widely travelled academic who has contributed papers in national and international conferences. His areas of interest include comparative politics, Indian Politics and Research Methodology.

Dr. Khan is associated with a number of research organizations. He serves in various capacities on a number of educational and research boards and committees. Presently, he is looking after the Journal of Objective Studies of the IOS, New Delhi in the capacity of the editor-in-chief. He is a recognized academic and researcher.
